Lookin at a sas on ranger 84 8.8 d44 with 2.3 if I went like 6.14 geard would the motor move truck ok on black top only lookin at 33s maybe 35s it is stock now with 355s

im guessin that u mean 4.56 will do good on 33s I just no its a lil motor but 22r and zuki motors handle big tires im not gonna b doin ne hardcore stuff just a dd and toy the motors rebuilt and I hear good stuff bout the lil 2.3s

ftw = for the win meaning he is saying use a 4.46 gear ratio in the axles to pull the tires your looking to run. running those gears you will be able to have the low end tq off road and not have too much gear(not turn 4500rpm) when doing 45mph going down the road.

if you are gonna run 35s with a 4 cylinder you will want 5.13s I dont think they make 6.14s for the 8.8 not 100% on that though.

with a 4.0L 4.56 gears and 33s are a great combo. with a 4.0L 4.56s and 35s are pretty good.

With a 2.9L 5.13s and 35s are a great combo. with 2.9L and 4.56 and 35s is less than desirable but will work.

I ran all these combos in rangers and explorers. no experience with the 4 banger though.
