trans advice

ihave a 06 tj with a 6speed. i want to put a auto in and was woundering if i should use a jeep trans or a 700r. if anybody has done this and could give some advice please do. thanks

you will need need a transmission to engine adapter and you will also need a tranny to tcase adapter but it would work.

is the jeep trans a good one and where is the best place to find one. i will need any cables and a torque converter too. i have a good 6 speed i can trade .

I honestly love my Auto Trans, mine is stock to my 93 YJ and think its the 999 trans. However I hear lots of good things about the early 700R4 trans if you find an early mechanical one that requires no computer to run it. I would look around the junkyards for an auto and check with any of the Jeep only salvage yards I know there is one in Georgia near Statesville. I ordered parts from them and they are great people and prompt.
